MY SOLDIER War comes in many shapes And its fought in many places A soldier must do whatever it takes And he will wear many faces. A soldier will guard, fight and destroy And take orders given on down the line So many horrors he has had to employ Harming his soul in the meantime. Nightmares he has had to endure A cancer that eats at his heart His soul has such hope for the future Waiting only a brand new start. No matter what has gone before My heart will hold him eternally His passion and love always giving more And to my soldier, I surrender me. Now we fight our battles side by side Against all oppression and tyranny Until into the sun we finally collide It will forever be my soldier and me.
